Easily Roll Back Changes with Automation Revisions

Automation version control streamlines the management of changes in your workflows, making it simple to track updates, revert to previous versions, and refine your processes with confidence and ease.

Automation revisions let you quickly restore a previous version of your workflow, ensuring seamless updates and flexibility. This feature ensures that every change you make is recorded, so you can easily restore earlier versions of your automation whenever needed. It works for both active and inactive automations, making it a valuable tool for maintaining control and flexibility.

How It Works

If you need to restore a previous version of your automation, follow these steps:

  1. Locate the "Turn Back Time" Icon: To get started, click on the "turn back time" icon. This can be found in the upper right-hand corner of the automation workflow builder. Turn Back Time icon in automation.jpg

  2. View the List of Revisions: Once you click the icon, a list of all previous versions of your automation will appear. Each version includes details like a timestamp and the avatar of the user who made the change, making it easy to track modifications.

  3. Preview the Version: Hover over the version you want to review. You’ll see a "Preview" button, along with information about the changes made and the user responsible. Clicking "Preview" opens a modal window displaying a snapshot of the selected version.

  4. Revert to the Desired Version: After reviewing the snapshot, click the "Use This" button to revert your automation to the selected version. This action restores the earlier version of your automation, replacing the current one.

What Happens to Contacts When You Revert?

If contacts are actively moving through your automation when you revert to a previous version, the system gives you options for handling them. During the revert process, you’ll see each "Wait" action that currently has contacts in it. At this stage, you can choose how these contacts should be managed:

  • You can allow the contacts to either exit the automation completely, or

  • Transfer them to the equivalent "Wait" action in the restored version of the automation.

By selecting a "Wait" action from the revision preview and clicking "Use This," all affected contacts will be transferred appropriately. This ensures that no contact is left behind or disrupted unnecessarily.
