Granting WolfPack Advising Domain Access
This Article Explains How To Grant WolfPack Advising The Proper Domain Access Needed To Connect Your Advertising Landing Page To Your Brand Domain.
Overview
During the onboarding process, you must grant WolfPack Advising access to your domain so we can connect the advertising landing page — built on a third-party platform — to your brand domain. This ensures brand consistency across all of your marketing touchpoints.
Important: Access to your domain is not the same as access to your website files. Domain access allows us to configure DNS records that point a subdomain (or your main domain) to the landing page. We do not need access to your website’s hosting files, admin panel, or content management system.
The steps to grant access will vary depending on the domain registrar you use. Please follow the appropriate process for your registrar below.
How To Find Your Domain Registrar
If you are unsure of where your domain is registered, you can use a WHOIS lookup tool to locate your registrar. Simply visit a WHOIS lookup site (such as whois.domaintools.com or lookup.icann.org), enter your domain name, and the results will show which registrar manages your domain.
Common domain registrars include GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains, Cloudflare, and Network Solutions. Once you’ve identified your registrar, follow the instructions in the relevant section below.
If Your Domain Is Registered With GoDaddy
If your domain is managed through GoDaddy, you will need to grant WolfPack Advising delegate access to your GoDaddy account. Delegate access allows our team to manage DNS settings on your behalf without sharing your personal login credentials.
To grant delegate access in GoDaddy:
- Log in to your GoDaddy account.
- Navigate to your Account Settings.
- Select the Delegate Access section.
- Click Invite to Delegate Access.
- Enter the email address provided by WolfPack Advising and assign the appropriate access level (we will need access to manage DNS/domain settings).
- Click Send Invitation.
WolfPack Advising will receive an email invitation to accept the delegate access. Once accepted, we will be able to configure the necessary DNS records to connect your landing page.
For full instructions, refer to GoDaddy’s official support article: "Invite a Delegate — GoDaddy Help Center"
If Your Domain Is Registered With Namecheap
If your domain is registered with Namecheap, WolfPack Advising will need you to provide access so we can update DNS records to point your domain to your advertising landing page.
Option 1: Share DNS Credentials Directly
You can provide WolfPack Advising with login credentials to your Namecheap account so we can make the necessary DNS changes. We recommend creating a separate set of credentials if your registrar supports sub-accounts or team access.
Option 2: Update DNS Records Yourself
If you prefer to maintain full control of your account, WolfPack Advising can provide you with the specific DNS records that need to be added or modified. You would then log in to Namecheap and make the changes yourself.
To update DNS records in Namecheap:
- Log in to your Namecheap account.
- Go to Domain List and click Manage next to your domain.
- Select the Advanced DNS tab.
- Add or modify the DNS records as instructed by WolfPack Advising (typically a CNAME or A record).
- Save your changes.
For full instructions, refer to Namecheap’s official support article: "How to Modify DNS Records — Namecheap Knowledge Base"
If Your Domain Is Registered With Cloudflare
If your domain is managed through Cloudflare, WolfPack Advising will need access to your Cloudflare account to configure DNS records. Cloudflare supports multi-user access, which allows you to add our team without sharing your personal login.
To add WolfPack Advising as a member in Cloudflare:
- Log in to your Cloudflare dashboard.
- Navigate to Manage Account > Members.
- Click Invite.
- Enter the email address provided by WolfPack Advising.
- Assign the appropriate role (we will need permissions to manage DNS settings).
- Click Invite.
WolfPack Advising will receive an email to accept the invitation and access your domain’s DNS settings.
For full instructions, refer to Cloudflare’s official documentation: "Manage Account Members — Cloudflare Docs"
If Your Domain Is Registered Elsewhere
If your domain is registered with a provider not listed above (such as Google Domains, Network Solutions, HostGator, Bluehost, or another registrar), the general process is the same:
- Log in to your domain registrar’s account.
- Locate the DNS management or domain settings area.
- Either grant WolfPack Advising delegate or team-member access, or add/modify DNS records as instructed by our team.
If you are unsure how to do this with your specific provider, please let us know and we will be happy to loop in a member of our website team to guide you through the process step by step.
What WolfPack Advising Will Do With Domain Access
Once we have the appropriate access, WolfPack Advising will configure DNS records to connect your advertising landing page to your brand domain. This connection ensures:
- Brand Consistency: Your landing page will appear under your own domain, reinforcing trust and professionalism with potential clients.
- Improved Ad Performance: Ads that direct users to a branded URL tend to see higher click-through and conversion rates.
- Seamless User Experience: Visitors will transition from your ad to your landing page without noticing a change in domain, creating a cohesive journey.
- Security: We only modify the specific DNS records needed to point to the landing page. We do not alter your website files, email settings, or other domain configurations.
Need Additional Assistance?
If you require additional assistance or are unsure about any of the steps outlined above, please let us know. We can loop in a member of our website team to guide you through the process and ensure everything is set up correctly.
Remember: Domain access is not the same as website file access. We only need the ability to manage DNS records associated with your domain. Your website content, files, and hosting remain entirely under your control.
