Creating A Deal From A Pipeline

This article describes how to create a deal from a pipeline.

Terminology

Here are the standard fields for deal info. You'll fill these in when you create a new deal.

Account

This is the business name linked to the contact on the deal. Account lets you keep track of all the businesses you're working with.

When you make a new deal, you'll need to give the account name for the contact (if known). As you type, we'll show you some options to pick from. If there's no match, you can start a new account by hitting "Create". The account is made once the deal is saved.

Contact Name or Email Address

The Contact Name is who the deal is about. Deals are made from a pipeline link to contacts. Each contact needs an email to be added to your ActiveCampaign account.

To add a contact name or email, type either into this field. We'll show you a list of possible contacts for this deal as you type. If a contact isn't on there yet, hit "Create". A contact record will be made when the deal is saved.

Deal Description

In this section, you can provide brief and key details about the deal. This information will be displayed in the "About This Deal" area on the deal's detail page.

Deal Owner

A deal manager is an account user who has access to your pipeline. They are responsible for managing assigned deals.

Deal Name

This refers to your deal's title, which will be shown on its card in your pipeline. Ensure each deal has a short yet informative name. You can add a unique touch to the deal name using a personalization tag.

Deal Value and Currency

Every deal needs to have value. The default currency is USD. You can modify this by clicking on the value fields and inputting new data.

Forecasted Close Date

The estimated close date is your prediction of when the deal will conclude. By adding a date here, you can effectively forecast your business operations on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis with the Estimated Close Date report.

Pipeline

A pipeline represents the sequence of steps in a sales process. To modify the pipeline for a deal, select the "Pipeline" dropdown and choose a different pipeline.

Stage

A stage refers to a specific step within your sales process. Determine the stage of the deal by selecting the "Stage" dropdown and opting for a different stage.
